Principled Lawyers Seeking Justice For The Injured And Disabled

What photos should you take after a car accident?

When you've been injured in a crash with a negligent driver, the facts of the incident will likely seem black-and-white to you. You know that you weren't doing anything wrong, and you know that the other driver is at fault. But, if you want to seek compensation from the other driver, you'll need convincing evidence to support your claims.

One important type of evidence is photographs from the scene of the car accident. Bremen drivers may wonder: what kind of photographs should they take after an accident? What exactly do they need to document?

For one thing, you'll need photos that show the overall scene from different angles. All vehicles that were in the crash should be included in the pictures. You'll want to show any traffic control devices like stoplights or different types of signs, as well as the conditions outside: how much sunlight (if any) there was, and any precipitation, snow or ice on the road. If conditions were clear, you'll want to document that as well.

You'll also need tight-angle photos of the damage caused by the crash. This includes vehicle damage, both interior and exterior, and any injuries that you suffered. Get shots of the license plates and the other driver's insurance card. It's also a good idea to take photos of the other driver and anyone like police or witnesses who may offer testimony on your behalf.

Of course, in a serious accident, you may not have the luxury of taking thorough photographs. Make sure that any required medical needs are being taken care of first and that police have been called. A personal injury attorney can use your photos from the accident scene to support your case but can work with other types of evidence as well.
